OTTplay Awards 2022 WINNERS LIST: Kartik Aaryan, Taapsee Pannu Wins Best Actor; Shershaah Bags Best Web Original Film Awards

OTT platforms are the new source of entertainment. Due to theatres being closed in the wake of Covid 19 pandemic, many films and web series of megastars were released on OTT platforms. Just like there are numerous Bollywood awards that recognize theatrical releases, the OTTplay Awards came up with an idea to recognize the films and web series released online. OTTplay Awards 2022 was organized on Saturday, September 10, 2022.
This was the first ever pan India awards that celebrated the films, and web series launched on all the platforms across languages. These award show also recognized the actors and filmmakers that entertained the audience. Shows and films released between June 1, 2021, and July 31, 2022, were eligible for the awards this year. The respected jury panel included notable members of the film fraternity, including filmmakers Aanand L Rai and Ashwini Iyer Tiwari, and actors Divya Dutta and Adil Hussain.
You might be wondering who won the Best Actor (Male) and Best Actor (Female) awards right? So, Kartik Aaryan took home the Best Actor award for 'Dhamaka' and Taapsee Pannu won Best Actress for her performance in Haseen Dilruba in the Popular Film category. Arya for Sarpatta Parambai, Farhan Akhtar for Toofan and Vidya Balan for Jalsa secured Best Actor award in the Jury Film. For the web series, Tahir Raj Bhasin for Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein and Raveena Tandon for Aranyak were recognized as Best Actor Popular. And the celebrated actor Manoj Bajpayee for The Family Man was considered Best Actor Jury.
Meanwhile, Jai Bhim and Shershaah were considered Best Web Original Film Popular while Dasvi was considered Best Web Original Film Jury. The Family Man was recognized as Best Web Series and Tabbar as Best Web Series Jury. Masaba Gupta won Excellence in Reality Fiction for Masaba Masaba. Sara Ali Khan for Atrangi Re won Breakthrough Performance of the Year Female. Karan Jojat was recognized as Best Chat Show Host on OTT.
